Review + Giveaway: Manwhore by Katy Evans

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

Review:
I love everything about this book- the title, the book cover, all the characters, and yes, even the cliffhanger of an ending... book 2, Manwhore + 1, can't come soon enough.

Now, where to begin... I think what really keeps the readers attention is the sexual tension between Rachel and Malcolm aka Saint. These two meet under professional circumstances, but Saint is a good looking man, so it was only a matter of time before Rachel saw past her subject of the expose and saw the actual man that he is. Not many people know the real man behind the persona he puts out, but Rachel starts to uncover him, not much, but little bits at a time, then eventually they get under the covers for real.

I liked that these characters didn't jump each others bones right off the bat. I enjoyed the build up, the back and forth banter, the fleeting kisses and touches... Rachel really struggles with being a professional and chasing the story of a life time with feelings that she has never felt for a man before in her life. She starts to question what is more important to her and the guilt is hard to deal with at times. Rachel and Saint's friends, especially Gina and Tahoe, bring a lot of comedic relief when needed. Though Gina can be a bit much, a little overbearing at times, you can see how much she cares about Rachel, and she really needs that.

Manwhore, for me, just scraped the surface... in a good way. This book introduces us to interesting new characters and I can't wait to see if Rachel can crack open the mystery that is Malcolm Saint in the next book!

Review: Shaken, Not Stirred by Sawyer Bennett

She swore she would never fall to any man.
Casey Markham is a man-eater in a rut. Swearing off relationships may keep her heart safe, but she’s beginning to question if her casual flings will ever leave her satisfied. She’s wondering if it’s finally time to let go of the past and stop letting history control her future.
He took one look at her and vowed to bring her down.
Bad boy biker, Tenn Jennings can’t get Casey off his mind. A chance encounter with the beautiful blond has left its mark, and now he’s determined to prove her wrong about everything she thought she knew about men.
It’s safe to say… Casey Markham has met her match.
Review:
I loved Casey and Tenn's story, it's probably my favorite from The Last Call Series... and that's saying a lot because I absolutely enjoyed reading each book. Now, each book in the series can be read as a stand-alone, but I recommend reading them all. They are great reads, but also because Casey is a sassy little minx, and her appearances throughout the series are really entertaining. I've been waiting for her story through 4 books and book 5, Shaken, Not Stirred, did not disappoint.

Casey had a not so great experience with love in the past, so now she's all about flings and fun... so basically, throughout the series I have been waiting for love to kick her ass, and boy did it ever and it couldn't have been with a better man. Tenn is everything. He's a total alpha, but also a gentleman. He is kind, caring, loving, smart, completely charming, and a great dad. Completely and totally attractive in every way.

Their journey to happily ever after isn't easy. For Casey and Tenn it was all about learning how to balance their relationship with family obligations. How it's okay to feel vulnerable and that leaning on someone else and trusting them to take care of you and your feelings makes you strong, not weak. All of that mixed with sexy, sexy times, Casey's smart mouth, and Tenn's alpha ways... you're in for a good read!

I didn't want this story to end because I'm going to miss all these characters, but I'm crossing my fingers for a story about Tenn's brother! That man seems like the down and dirty kind and I can't wait for that! Keep 'em coming, Sawyer. Keep 'em coming!

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, Sawyer Bennett is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. Review: Consolation by Corrine Michaels

Book One in the Consolation Duet

He wasn’t even on my radar.

He was my husband’s best friend—forbidden.

One night with Liam changed everything. Now I have to decide if I truly love him or if he’s just the consolation prize.

Review:
Consolation is soooo... everything. It's heartbreaking, yet full of hope and healing. It's fun, flirty and at times down right frustrating... and I can't wait for book 2- Conviction.
Natalie is such a real and raw character. She goes through a lot in Consolation. While heavily pregnant her husband dies while on a mission. In the year after his death, Natalie deals with the hurt of losing her high school sweetheart, raising an infant on her own, and then the guilt of moving on and learning to live again... with his best friend. But then of course there are other outside issues and revelations that threaten to ruin not only all the progress she's made after Aaron's death, but also her relationship with Liam.
Now Liam... he is something else. He is not only uber hot, but intelligent, loyal, and caring. You don't even need to have his POV, which you do get, to know how genuine of a person he is. Natalie didn't stand a chance. She was a goner and I love them as a couple. Corrine Michaels wrote them perfectly. They are believable as a couple, as a family, and the reader is 100% on their side the entire time.
Sooo... I should probably cut myself off before I continue to gush about this book, but this is one you should definitely pick up. Consolation brought out all the feels and the ending had me like "whhhhaaatt?!"... I can't even. Conviction couldn't come soon enough! (May 27, 2015)

Review:

I have been waiting for Reed's story since I first got a glimpse of him in Where I Belong. In fact, I'm pretty sure every J. Daniels fan has been on pins and needles waiting for Reed to dick them up and damn, did our boy deliver!

Poor Reed was done dirty by his high school sweetheart. Poor Beth has just been done dirty by life in general. Both of these characters just need something to believe in, someone to feel safe with, and I loved reading about their journey to figuring all that out...

When I Fall doesn't fall short. It's everything I wanted it to be and more. Reed is not just the uber hot, witty, carefree ladies man. He is a man of many layers still dealing with the hurt from his bitch of an ex-girlfriend... and who knew how hot Reed's bedroom activities were? God Lord!! Now Beth, she is incredibly sweet, genuine, just an all around good person who has had it pretty rough. All she wants is to feel like she belongs somewhere. She wants to feel loved and feel safe. Reed, Tessa and the rest of the gang are just the right people to show her she can have all of that.

I can't pinpoint what I loved most about When I Fall. I loved Beth's style, Reed's sexy times, Reed's sassy sister Riley, Tessa and Luke up against a wall, fridge, bathroom stall (you get the picture), Ben and Mia's crazy soul-mate love that makes me insanely jealous, and sweet Sir Nolan's toddler talk and Uncle Weed hero worship.

I laughed. I cried. I found myself blushing, looking around the room to see if anyone caught me... This is why I keep coming back for more when it comes to J. Daniels. Whether it's the Sweet Addiction Series or the Alabama Summer series... J. Daniels is a pre-order, one click that bitch kind of gal and if you haven't you are seriously missing out.

REVIEW:
Just from the blurb I knew this book was going to be an emotional read-- which is one of my favorite kinds of reads. Stories like this pull you in and has you on the edge of your seat. I definitely felt their grief and frustration over the secrets being revealed. And though there were some heartbreaking moments, who doesn't love a good second-chance at love type of romance? If you're into that and a dash of mystery in your books, then pick this baby up!

Losing Track CoverBook #2
Can be read as a stand-alone.
Sometimes you have to lose your way before finding the right track.
The roar of a bike engine. The vibration between her thighs. The feel of cool darkness kissing her skin as she coasts along twisty back roads at night—Melody Lachlan lives for these things. Ever since Mel and her best friend Darla escaped their small, backwoods town, they’ve traveled the countryside in search of fast rides, tatted bikers, and good times.
A self-proclaimed poet and lover of all things free, Mel views her life as one long bike ride—with pit stops along the way to numb the pain. But she never saw herself as a junkie. Party as hard as you ride. That’s her motto…until a tragic night steals her soul. Then she’s forced to delve below the surface, to where her demons rage.
When she meets recovered drug addict Boone Randall, she’s more likely to deck him than kiss his dimple-adorable face. She doesn’t want his help; doesn’t want to own up to her part in that night. She just wants to do her time and keep her promise to her friend. Yet Boone challenges Mel, and soon she doesn’t mind sharing the road. Only when Boone’s own secret demons threaten their newfound, fragile security, Mel’s course becomes rocky, and she must decide if letting her well-worn track marks fade is worth finding a new path.
Told from Dual point of view from Melody and Boone, this is a New Adult Contemporary Romance intended for readers seventeen years of age and older.

REVIEW:
I've read other books that dealt with addiction, so I knew going into this book it was going to me another emotional roller coaster. There is a lot of internal built up guilt and shame when it comes to their actions. And even though Boone has been sober, he still has all that anger and guilt inside, he just channels it in a different direction-- underground fights.
One of my favorite things about this book is the alternating POV's. I'm a big fan of getting both sides of a story and these characters are so real and raw, you don't want to miss any of that.

Fading Out Front CoverBook #3
Can be read as a stand-alone.
Love means fading out so another shines brighter.
Right clothes. Right school. Right fiancé. As a Wyndemere, Arian's expected to abide by the rules. The most important: be perfect. But Arian's seemingly flawless life is far from it. An embarrassing expulsion from her parents' alma mater spirals an already unhealthy obsession out of control, exposing a dark truth.
Faced with having to attend a small private college after a stint in rehab, Arian's just ready to coast under the radar and repair some of the wreckage, but her father's looming control is like a vise choking off her air supply.
When a run-in with Braxton's beloved star quarterback, Ryder Nash, puts Arian squarely in the crosshairs of his devoted teammates, the last of her controlled, orderly world unhinges. As the pranks and paybacks escalate, Arian and Ryder's rivalry takes a passionate turn. And once Arian glimpses beneath the all-star-athlete exterior Ryder projects, she realizes he's far more than just a jock.
As their relationship intensifies, outside forces feel the threat. Outrunning their pasts doesn't mean history won't repeat itself, but Ryder can't let that happen. He's just one Championship game away from breaking the mold. Only one moment, one choice, might change everything.
Add to your Goodreads list!
REVIEW:

Man, this series is angst-y and full of flawed, but totally real characters, and Fading Out keeps with the trend. Ryder and Ari are definitely different from Mel and Boone in the previous book. They are the kind of people who have everything going for them-- money and popularity. But those things aren't everything, especially when it feels like your whole life is already planned out for you.
These two may have had a rough start full of arrogance, arguments and pranks, but ultimately these two find something in each other that eclipses all of that. This story deals with learning about yourself, not letting outside influences break you or what you have down, loving yourself, etc. etc. etc. I can't wait for book 4!
