Blurb:
It was complicated, it was also just the beginning.
A decision.
A simple choice.
There is always that one moment in life where things could have been different. That one moment where you could have chosen a path that would lead you down a certain road.
A different life.
It was easier to pretend that we were still best friends, and that she was my girl and I was her boy.
Pretending was better than knowing the truth...
I. Ruined. Us.
I had her.
I lost her.
I love her.
All I did was complicate us.Buy Link: AMAZON
Review:
As can you tell from my sporadic and impersonal blog posts, I've been a little out of it lately. My life has been nothing but chaos the past few months, and I'm just starting to get back into the swing of things. When I'm feeling down, I turn to reading and music. Though music has helped me a lot (Thank you, Kings of Leon and The Weeknd), oddly, books have been a let down. I couldn't connect with anything I tried reading. Seriously, after a couple chapters I'd set it aside and go about my day or try reading another one. Now if you know me, this is just crazy coming from the girl who would read a book a day... BUT, I'm here to tell you all I finally broke that tragic streak of booklessness, and it's all thanks to M. Robinson.
Complicate Me completely slayed me! All the feels, ladies. All. The. Feels.
I've always been a fan of small town settings, best friend-sibling like friendships, and angst-- And Complicate Me gave me all that and more. You can't have a good love story without angst that knocks you on your ass, breaking your heart right along with the characters. And oh boy, let me tell you, did my heart break. It soared, only to be twisted and cracked, then brought back up again.
M. Robinson told Alex and Lucas' story from beginning to end. She wrote a lifetime worth of friendship, laughter, longing and heartbreak all wrapped up in a pretty little bow I like to call love. You would think that that kind of story telling would come off as long winded, but that couldn't be further from the truth in this case. Alex and Lucas' story is devastatingly beautiful and I couldn't soak up every detail of their lives fast enough. I cried actual tears with every road block Alex and her good ol' boys encountered and I can't wait to read more as the rest of the series releases.
Bravo, M. Robinson, bravo! You have a fan and faithful reader for life.
p.s.. I loved this book so much, I'd love to give away an eBook copy. Check out and enter the giveaway below! : ))
