“Dry off,” Cole said, and stepped back from Olivia.

She nodded but didn’t move.

“Olivia?” he asked.

Her face was a mask of misery. “Mmmy arms won’t wwwork.”

Shit. He quickly and gently pushed her back down to the bench, sat at her side, and began to pile blankets over the top of them both.

“Wwhat are you ddoing?”

“Sharing my body heat,” he said.

“I cccan’t feel any hhheat.”

“You will.” Beneath the blankets, he reached for the towel she still had wrapped around her. “Don’t freak,” he warned. “I’m just going to remove the wet towel and pull you into me.”

She opened her mouth, but using her sluggishness to his benefit, Cole quicklystripped the towel away from her, wrapping his arms around her, pulling her into him as two things happened simultaneously. One, she squeaked. Probably trying to formulate her next threat.

And two—holy shit—he realized she was completely, totally, one hundred percent naked beneath the layer of blankets.

And pissed. “Yyyour pants!” she gasped. “Thththey’re cccold!”

“Sorry, but I’m trying to do the right thing here,” he said through clenched teeth. Jesus. He couldn’t see a thing below her neck, but he could sure as hell feel her. His hands were on her hip and low on her back, respectively, not touching anything he shouldn’t be, but damn she was soft, and at the feel of her, his brain clicked off. Just completely flatlined.

Blurb:

Every year, the girls of Phi Delpha Chi, Fiona Arlett’s dream sorority, hold a competition.

The prize?

James Reid, king size bar of eye candy and famous actor turned haughty undergrad.

The rules?

No girl but the winner can touch him.

The problem?

Fiona miiight have unknowingly banged his brains out last week.

Losing the competition may mean wearing a chicken suit to the sexiest Halloween costume contest, but she’d rather have feathers up her butt than let the truth out.

Unfortunately, she and James have lots in common and more chemistry than the science wing. Soon they’re sneaking around behind the backs of UCSD’s hottest and most vengeful girls.

If they find out?

Fiona’s screwed.
----------------------------------------------------
Excerpt:

“Leave,” James repeats. The word sweeps over the boys surrounding me like an icy cold breeze from the asscrack of Antarctica. He’s really got the serial killer vibe going on. Even I have to resist the urge to jump up and run for the hills. I don’t blame my harem for scattering, leaving me sitting exposed and undefended on the counter, at the mercy of James Reid.

I point at him. “You scared away my harem.”

“Those guys were looking at you like you’re a piece of meat.” His tone is thick with disgust.

“Technically I am a piece of meat. Plus bones and stuff. Also, don’t you think that’s a bit hypocritical?”

I expect him to scoff at this, to shrug it off or deny it. Instead he cuts his eyes away from me. “I’m sorry,” he says finally. “I shouldn’t have jump—”

“Jump-started my car for me,” I interrupted loudly, fully aware that Sigrid is straining to listen in on our conversation, even if she is across the room. “You’re right. You should have just let me take it to the shop. Some things should be done by professionals.”

A ghost of a smile traces its way upward from the corners of his lips. It’s the first time I’ve seen him smile, and damn, is it dangerous. I swallow and look away. “Although—even though I know that I shouldn’t have let you near my car, and you’re definitely not coming near it again, you don’t need to apologize. At the time, I really wanted you to jump-start my car.”

My phone buzzes. I glance down. A text from Iris. Think of a better euphemism. You’re not being subtle.

“Did you just say I’m not a professional?” he asks, leaning one-handed on the counter so that his thumb is bare inches away from my thigh. He’s close enough to count the goose pimples that appear on my skin.

“Definitely an amateur,” I smirk.

His hand inches closer. “Why don’t you call me next time your car needs some work done and I’ll show you more of what I’m capable of.”

EXCERPT:

"You agreed to give me six months," he reminds me.

"I also agreed to give you my virginity," I add.

"But I didn’t take that."

"No, you didn’t," I agree. A fact that I’m painfully aware of.

"Are you still intact?" he asks, his tone raspy and deep.

A warm current zips through me, flushing my cheeks and soaking my panties. "Of c-course." My voice is hoarse and Colton’s dark eyes roaming on mine make it impossible to speak clearly.

I see the vein throb at the base of his throat. "Good girl," he admonishes.

Review: Once Haunted, Twice Shy by H.P. Mallory

Genre: Romance, Paranormal, Urban Fantasy
Release: September 26th, 2014
Blurb:
Sassy, spirited Peyton Clark is back—and she's not alone!
After agreeing to let the spirit of Drake Montague inhabit her body, Peyton soon discovers that the twentieth-century French policeman may be dead but his lothario longings sure aren't. Now she has to find a way to explain to her sweet, sexy boyfriend, Ryan Kelly, that a spirit has taken up residence in her head, whispering French words of affection day and night.

While Peyton is torn between her love for a living man and her growing affection for one deceased, supernatural activity in New Orleans spikes—and something wicked this way comes. With the help of her friends (and a little voodoo), Peyton learns that the demonic spirit of the Axeman may still dwell in her home. To stop bloody history from repeating itself, Peyton will have to travel back a century to confront the Axeman at his roots, with the help of a certain handsome—and suddenly flesh and blood—police officer in the Big Easy.

Review:
I am a huge H.P. Mallory fan. She is the one who got me into the whole paranormal, urban fantasy genre. H.P. has a knack for this genre and I haven't been disappointed by a book of hers yet!

Once Haunted, Twice Shy is book 2 of the Peyton Clark Series. This time around Peyton is dealing with Drake possessing her body (to save him) and her budding relationship with Ryan. Drake maybe be some ghost-spirit type thing, but the guy is hot. Super smooth, suave, a bit of a bad boy and hot! I love the banter between Drake and Peyton. Now Ryan Kelly has been skittish about relationships up until this point, but the guy is adorable. I figure men don't like to be described as adorable, but honestly, he his. He is the cute, sexy guy who opens your doors, loves his crazy sister and wants nothing more to protect you and cuddle after some awesome sex! I'll take one Ryan Kelly to go please!!
 photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-28338-1360290338-2_zps071a4619.gif
There was a bit more suspense to this book compared to book 1, at least for me there was. I found myself reading as fast as I could, trying not to cheat and skip ahead because I needed to know what the eff was going on. We've got a bit of a love triangle going on here, but it's a little awkward considering one is a spirit. The old crazy voodoo lady (Guarda?), was a bit much for me at times and gave me the creeps. And, btw, what the hell is what old lady up to? In the end things get a little crazy. We find out what happened to Drake before he became a ghost *tear*, we learn more about the Axeman, and the evil spirit guy that Guarda summoned makes another appearance and you know it is about to get even more chaotic in the next book.

Overall, Once Haunted, Twice Shy was highly entertaining with its wit and hints of mystery and suspense. My only frustration comes from Peyton. I love her character; she's very independent, sassy and brave, but I don't like that she is constantly keeping Ryan in the dark about things!

Written Revelry gives Once Haunted, Twice Shy a 4 out of 5.

Happy Reading,

Review: Falling for Max by Shannon Stacey

Genre: Romance, Contemporary
Release: July 29th, 2014

Blurb:
Max Crawford has reached the point in life where he's starting to think about settling down. Unfortunately, he's always been a little awkward when it comes to social interactions, and working from home doesn't help. He spends so much time alone, painting beautiful, historically accurate model trains that half of Whitford has begun to joke that he may be a serial killer. Not exactly prime husband material.

Tori Burns has found happiness in Maine, thanks in large part to her shifts at the Trailside Diner. She likes the work, and she loves the local gossip. When shy, geeky Max Crawford becomes a regular, she's intrigued. When she finds out he's in the market for a wife, she's fascinated…and determined to help.

Molding Max into every woman's dream turns out to be much easier than expected. But has Tori's plan worked a little too well? As she turns his comfortable life all sorts of upside down, she'll have to find a way to show just how she's fallen for him…the real him.

Review:
So, just a warning to readers—Falling for Max is book 9 in the Kowalski Family Series. This book will touch on pervious characters, and though you don't necessarily need to read all pervious 8 before this one, I recommend that you do. Why? Because I love the Kowalski family and all their Kowalski Family of Doom weddings/camping trips/volleyball games, etc.!

Though I enjoyed reading Falling for Max (I've been waiting to hear Max's story!) it wasn't one of my favorites. Max is the cute mysterious type who keeps to himself. He's very smart, a bit uncomfortable and to the point about things, but you can't help but love his quirks. Tori was hard to relate to, at least for me she was. She's a spunky chick who seems to bring Max out of his shell, but other than that I didn't feel much towards her or for her. Once they start the whole friends with benefits thing you know it's not going to turn out well. It hardly ever does, right? But when emotions get involved and true feelings come out Tori get a bit dramatic. The ending just didn't do it for me I guess.

The Kowalski Family series is a fun and beyond entertaining read. The series is full of people just like you and I—people who work hard and love and make time for their family. Books 8 and 9 don't have Kowalski family members as the main characters, but they are still there being awesome in the background.

Written Revelry gives Falling for Max a 3.5 out of 5.
I recommend reading the first 8 Kowalski books. You don't be disappointed.

Cover Reveal: Filthy Beautiful Lust by Kendall Ryan

Release Date : NOVEMBER 10, 2014

From New York Times & USA Today bestselling author, Kendall Ryan, comes the third book in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series.

Pace Drake loves sex. He knows where get it, what to say, what to do, and he makes no apologies for satisfying his needs. But when he meets single mom, Kylie Sloan, he's enthralled by her, and begins to question his standard operating procedure. After all, there's no chase, no mystery when banging a woman in a nightclub bathroom. Kylie's depth and determination make the sloppy, drunken hookups that fill his weekends seem empty and shallow. She's the opposite of the desperate, clingy women he's used to. She doesn’t want or need anyone to take care of her and that only makes him want to care for her more.

Kylie's trust in men has vanished. The last guy she was with played ding-dong-ditch-it with her uterus and left her with a baby to raise. Now her infant son is the only man she has time for, even if she misses sex and intimacy more than she'd ever admit. Opening her heart up to a younger man who's best known for no-strings-attached sex and his casual lifestyle is probably the worst idea she's ever had. But Pace wants to prove to her there are still a few good guys left, and watching the sweet way he interacts with her baby makes her want to try…but she can really trust that his days of hitting it and quitting it are in his past?

Filthy Beautiful Lust is the third book in the Filthy Beautiful Lies series, however it can be read as a standalone novel (no cliffhanger). To understand the full growth and development of the characters, it is recommended that you begin with book 1, Filthy Beautiful Lies.

Pace

I take a sip of the liquor and immediately decide drinking is a bad idea. I'm already on edge and frustrated. The alcohol will only make me obsess more. Abandoning the glass, I sit down in a leather chair across from Colton and let out a heavy sigh. "Tell me about Kylie."
His gaze narrows. "Fuck no. You and Kylie?" He shakes his head, rising to his feet. "No. Abso-fucking-lutely not. If this is what you came here to talk about, you can leave now." He points to the door, his expression unwavering.
Goddamn. "You're no fun." Changing my mind, I stride over to the cabinet, pluck up the glass and down the rest of the drink. It burns like a mother fucker on the way down, but it'll do the trick, numbing whatever this weird sensation is inside my chest.
"I'm serious, Pace. She's a good girl. She doesn't need to get tangled up in your…ways…"
"My ways?" Now I'm getting pissed. He's saying I'm not good enough for her.
"Hit it and quit it. Pump and dump. Whatever you want to call it, it's not happening. Not with Kylie."
"I know that, asshole. I wanted to take her out – like legitimately take her out to dinner. Enjoy her company."
He frowns at me again, that crease in his forehead deepening. "You're telling me you don't want to fuck her?"
"Don't be a dumbfuck. Of course I want to. But I'm just saying that I wouldn’t hit it once and never call her again."
"What would you do, then? Move in? Marry her? Raise her son?" he challenges.
"I haven’t thought that fucking far ahead. Christ." Now I'm suddenly pacing the floor of his office and I have no idea why. This entire exchange is stressing me out. I came here hoping to get her number, and instead I'm getting grilled like a steak. He's pulling the older brother card on me like he does so often. The dick.
"And that's exactly why I don't want you messing around with her. You don't have a plan. Kylie needs a man with a plan. Not one with an agenda that only includes getting his crank yanked."

I sink down into the chair, hating this concerned older brother act.

Review & Giveaway: UnWritten by Chelsea M Cameron

Genre: New Adult, Romance
Release: July 10th, 2014

Blurb:
Children's librarian by day. Romance novelist by night.
British single father.
Someone else is writing this love story...

Blair Walton isn't your average curvaceous tattooed children's librarian. She's also one half of bestselling romance author, Scarlet Rose. Along with her BFF Raine, she spends her nights writing books so steamy, she's afraid they would shock her Southern conservative grandmother to death . . . if she knew about them. That's why she and Raine write in secret.

On deadline for their latest book and out of ideas, Raine suggests (demands) that Blair find a guy and "do some research". Declan Bennet has all the qualifications: He's British, looks fabulous in a suit, has glorious blue eyes and gets bonus points for being an amazing single dad to his adorable son, Drake. But what starts out as a research project quickly turns into something much more. And Blair's not the only one with secrets

Reivew:
I luuuurved this book! How could you not love a book that starts off with, "What's another word for pussy?" Ummm, hello first sentence, you attention grabber, you!

I feel like UnWritten needs to be described in nothing but gifs, but if you know me, then you know I love to talk. So you're going to get both. Enjoy!
 photo tumblr_lwn5itslRW1qgvr4ko1_r1_500_zps5bf0b42f.gif
UnWritten hit all the right spots for me. Cute single dad, librarians, and girls sitting around all day writing books in old yoga pants, eating cookies. It didn't have all that high drama in the end like most books; everything seemed to flow well.

I see myself as Blair, but I can also identify with Declan. And, btw, I've always loved that name. Don't know why. I've mentioned it to my friends before and they gave me a lip curl of disgust, but whatever. Anyway, as I was saying, I love Blair. She's a young, smart, talented tattooed lover of books and owner of big hips.
 photo stepbro_zps22cae316.gif

As far as Declan goes, that man is one fine specimen! And he's not just a sexy, well-off Brit, he's kind, patient, a good dad and superb in the sack. I enjoyed the single dad aspect of UnWritten because I can relate, being a single mom myself, and also, single dads are hot. I know how hard it is to balance a small child, school (for both of you), work, and a love life. It's almost impossible to have a love life with so much going on, but even though Declan says he wants to keep things casual, you know it's more because of the time he carves out for Blair. And the whole flower themed books in place of actual flowers when he picks her up for dates… freaking genius. Total swoon!
 photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-12646-1375452758-4_zps92bf03dc.gif photo anigif_enhanced-buzz-29616-1375456319-18_zps0361151c.gif

As far as secondary characters go, Drake (Declan's son) is the frickin' cutest thing ever. He was a scene stealer for sure and I wanted more of the little guy. Ada, the family friend/nanny… She is a piece of work and I have some questions about her. She seems a little suspect to me. Was she there to simply add a little conflict, throw shade at Blair, or was there something more to her actions? What's the real story with her and Declan? What was with the fire? Is she evil enough to have something to do with it? Because I feel like I'm missing something there. I don't know, but I feel like there was more to her, and I didn't like it. And last, but not least, Raine, Blair's co-author, roommate and best friend. She has Blair's best interests at heart, she's unwaveringly supportive, a little dramatic/over-the-top, but completely loveable. She is the ultimate platonic life partner and I wish she was mine. I hope to hear her story in the future. I think that girl is hiding some hurt feels…

Written Revelry gives UnWritten a 4.5 out of 5...and this sexy gif in honor of Declan and Blair shower sex. Get it, guuuurl!

Review & Giveaway: Adrian Lessons by L.A. Rose

Genre: New Adult, contemporary romance
Release: August 25th, 2014
Blurb:
If there's one thing Cleo Reynolds knows, it's that she's not into Adrian King.

The son of a model with the looks to prove it, the experienced author of her school newspaper's sex advice column, the cocky playboy with a hint of darkness. That Adrian King.

Nope. Nuh-uh. No way.
The problem is, he's very into her.

After accidentally flashing him, and slightly-less-accidentally-but-still-totally-unintentionally making out with him in front of the whole class, she expects to be called crazy. Instead, he asks her out.

Cleo's determined not to end up as another notch on his bedpost. Except she hasn't done…you know…it in a while. (Read: ever.) And as a girl who pays her tuition by writing all the sex scenes in her roommate's bestselling romance series, the lack of inspiration has served up a fat slice of writer's block.

Until her roommate proposes that Cleo and Adrian act out all the steamy scenes in her book.

It's just research. No feelings involved.
Nope. Nuh-uh.
No way.

Review:
If I had to pick one word to describe/represent Adrian Lessons it would be foreplay. Yes, foreplay. Holy crap… That was some of the hottest build up that I've read in a while. Most books get right down to business, which, of course, I'm more than okay with, but this foreplay was crazy good. Just when I thought Cleo was about to combust, with me right along with her, the sexy time commences and boy was that intense… and chocolate-y.

Besides loads of sexual tension, frustration, and orgasms, Adrian Lessons had me cracking up. Cleo is funny, quirky, and weird… in a good way. She says the most random things that have you scratching your head, but then agreeing with every word. She says whatever comes to mind and, for me, that quality made her a loveable character. And Adrian, well Adrian can be full of himself at times, but can you blame the guy? He's drop dead gorgeous, can have a girl screaming with pleasure in seconds, and has a heart the size of Texas. So for that, I can forgive his cockiness. As far as secondary characters go, Cleo's best friend and roommate Marie is super cute and a bit of a voyeur, or something close to it. You see… Maris writes romance novels and Cleo writes the sex scenes for her because Marie is a shy Catholic girl who blushes at the word "sex." But for being a shy Catholic girl she sure doesn't mind watching Adrian and Cleo enact some of the scenes from her book… for inspiration of course. I hope we get to hear more about Marie in the future! *hint hint* *nudge nudge*

So with all the awesome humor and sexual activities going on there was only one thing missing for me- when Cleo's crush/lust turned into more. The whole double date with her sister clued us in to how she felt about Adrian on a level other than sex, and with Adrian we knew his feelings for her from the beginning and why, but I just wanted a bit more from Cleo. I think a lot of Cleo's humor shadowed her true feelings throughout a lot of the book, but hey, it's fiction, it was funny, and I still enjoyed the story!

As far as first books go, I think L.A. Rose did a fantastic job of reeling her readers in with flaming hot foreplay and laugh out loud moments.

Written Revelry gives Adrian Lessons 4 out of 5 and a little Cleo and Adrian pool action for funsies!
